Extra 4

Xiao Hongyan's past life episode.

Today is Saturday; she took a nap at home.

The knock on the door woke her up.

"Brother, why are you here at this time?" It was her third brother Xiao Jiandang who came.

"Can you go to my house to spend the night with your sister-in-law?" His wife just gave birth, and his mother-in-law just left, so he had to go to his brother's place.

"Okay, but I won't take the baby. Brother, won't you go back tonight?" Her sister-in-law is just out of confinement, and she doesn't dare to hold the baby who has just been full moon, and she doesn't know how she can help.

"My classmate Wang Licheng, do you still remember that he died, and I have to go over to help." Two years ago, his father died in an accident, and now he died in an accident, and his family didn't even have a man.

"Brother, do you mean that Brother Licheng is dead?" Her nose was a little sore, and she felt uncomfortable.

"Dead, died to save the two children. Remember to go to my house later, I will go first." Now that he left, let his mother and sister live. There is no man in my mother's family, and my waist is not straight in my husband's family.

The next morning, Xiao Hongyan waited for the third brother to come back and asked for the address of Wang Licheng's home. She was going to offer a stick of incense to Wang Licheng.

The love that has not had time to start, because of Wang Licheng's death, there is nothing left.

When she was standing at the door, she could hear the crying of the woman inside, and when she went in, she saw Wang Licheng lying on the wooden board on the ground. She burned some paper, burned three sticks of incense and went out.

She couldn't bear the atmosphere inside, it made her want to cry too.

Outside the door, a hesitant young man with glasses caught her eye. The man looked gentle, not likely to be a relative of his family.

Fan Yeseng also saw Xiao Hongyan who came out. He felt that it would be easier for young people to communicate with each other, so he took the initiative to talk to Xiao Hongyan.

"Excuse me; is this the home of Mr. Wang Licheng?"

"You are?"

"I am the uncle of one of the two children rescued by Mr. Wang Licheng. I want to offer a stick of incense to Mr. Wang Licheng." He wanted to come express his gratitude and apology, but also afraid that his family will be overly impulsive.

"Follow me, and I'll take you in."

This summer, Yuanzi came back to play with her and persuaded her to take the college entrance examination.

After Wang Licheng's death, she was confused for a while, as if all her expectations were gone. Yuanzi persuaded her this time, and she nodded in a strange way.

Xiao Hongyan participated in the 1991 college entrance examination and applied for the literature major of Jiangcheng University, which can be adjusted. Only when she received the admission letter did she know that she had been transferred to a philosophy major.

On the first day of freshman class, she found out that the teacher who taught them was the gentleman wearing glasses who had offered incense to Wang Licheng last year.

When she graduated, Fan Yezeng asked her if she would marry him, and she agreed.

She stayed in Jiangcheng and married this man.

Her current job is to work as an assistant lecturer at the Party School of the Provincial Party Committee. The principal of the Party School is a comrade-in-arms of her father-in-law Fan Changjiang. Her father-in-law is the secretary of the Pucheng Municipal Party Committee.

Life after marriage is very ordinary, the husband and wife respect each other like guests, he teaches at Jiang University, and she goes to the party school by car every day to teach.

She gave birth to a son the next year, and the arrival of her mother-in-law broke the dullness.

The second sister had taught her that in her husband's house, she had to be tolerant of everything and not to conflict with her mother-in-law; otherwise her life would be difficult. Not to mention a lowly daughter-in-law like her.

To avoid conflict, she spends more and more time at school and less time at home.

Because of her outstanding work performance, in 1999 Xiao Hongyan was appointed as the Director of the Personnel Department of the Party School of the Provincial Party Committee.

Another incident happened that year. She got pregnant by accident. For the sake of their husband and wife's work, she aborted the child and had a necrosis at Fan Yezeng's request.

In the second year, she was admitted to the Party School of the Provincial Party Committee, majoring in economics as an on-the-job graduate student.

In 2004, the province wanted to transfer a group of young cadres to townships, counties and cities, and she signed up.

After the son was born, the husband and wife were busy with work, and the mother-in-law has been living with them, and only took the grandson to find his wife during the winter and summer vacations.

These years, the mother-in-law is taking care of the son, and the mother-in-law is also taking care of the family. She knew she had failed in her responsibilities as a good wife and mother. But every time she had a quarrel with her mother-in-law, Fan Yezeng would avoid them and go back to the study.

This happened once or twice, and gradually she was afraid to go home and didn't want to quarrel.

In 2005, her transfer documents came down. She was transferred to Jiangcheng City as mayor and deputy secretary of the municipal party committee.

She has been away for four years, and she will only return to Jiangcheng every year on May 11th.

After returning to Jiangcheng, the relationship between the two became more and more indifferent, and she put all her energy into her work.

In 2015, she had just served as the acting vice-governor of Lanzhou Province, and not long after she became a member of the provincial party committee, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Although the operation was relatively successful and her recovery was not bad, she had to retire during the treatment period.

That position could not have waited for her to recover from illness. And these years, she devoted all her time to work, ignoring the growth of her son. The home is also on the verge of collapse without anyone maintaining it.

She wants to return to her family and spend the rest of her time with her family. Moreover, her health has deteriorated a lot due to her illness and chemotherapy, and she can no longer withstand high-intensity work.

The first half of life is busy, and the second half of life is simple. Sometimes she wondered if there would be a result between them if Wang Licheng hadn't passed away. Will her life be like this?
